Putting Front blade meant for SP500 on SP700
#1
I have a Sportsman 700, and can get a great deal on a front blade, but it was meant for a sportsman 500. It is a Polaris brand blade. Does anyone know if it will fit the 700, and what modifications would be necessary?

I don't think you'd have to make any modifications. I think they have the same chassis, just different engines. The polaris plow's aren't model specific, so I'd think aftermarket would be the same.

I think it is the attachment and lift kits that are model specific. I assume the mounting plate is different. I just need to know if it will work on a 700...
Thanks!

This is a link to Polaris' website, shows a universal plow kit. Looks like it uses the same mounting bracket regardless of model. So, if you are buying just the blade? not sure. It looks to me like the aftermarket stuff seems to work like that.
Hope this helps.

Silverbullet is correct, after further review of the Polaris website, the mounting kits for the 600/700/800 are different from the 400/500/ATP. It would appear that you need to look at seperate mounting hardware.
How great is the deal?
You might be spending more frustration than saving money getting it to work. I'd talk to your dealer, and see what he can offer in the line of mounting kits for the blade.
I paid 69 for the mounting bracket
219 for the glacier kit, and 299 for the five way 54" VPlow. All in all about 600 bucks.
With that said, if you can buy just the blade cheap, order the correct mounting gear.

That 69 is the bracket for the glacier system, basically a square piece of steel with a v in it..... I think the mounting brackets for the manual lift systems is more money, because of it's size.
