new brute owner questions
#1
I just bought a brute force 750 camo, and when I put it in gear and reverse it grinds hard. Is this normal cause it dosnet sound good? I was also wanting to get some tires. Will 28" 589's fit under it stock? Ive heard that 29" tires will fit under a stock brute force. Thanks verry much.

Make sure your idle is not to high, also when you put it in gear, do so kinda quick. I found that if you move the shifter real slow it will grind. Second thing, if the problem is not the idle to high, you may have to have the linkage adjusted. My 2 cents worth.

Don't try to put it in gear immediately after you 1st start it up (choke on). Once it's warmed up and the choke is off, check your idle speed. If it is idling too fast, you will grind gears when shifting. When the idle is set properly it will shift into gear smoothly and easily (if the linkage is adjusted properly as it should be when you first brought it home).
I have a Dynatek CDI in mine (no jetting or needle changes). When I first installed it I noticed the machine idled a little faster so I had to crank the adjustment out a few turns to slow it down. Still shifts as smooth as butter but it does burble a little when riding it slow, however when you slam the throttle wide open the response is instantaneous without the slightest bit of hesitation, kind of sounds like a dragster taking off (so the “burble” doesn’t bother me as I don’t feel that it is affecting my machine’s performance). It is noticeably a little stronger when the CDI. Also the CDI raises the rev limiter a little plus disables the reverse rev limiter (no need to hold the button in anymore).
I'm currently running 26" GBC Gators on mine, absolutely no clearance problems...
