Gearing for 4x4 scrambler
#1
I want to increase top end speed after reducing tire sizes by 2". I've been told that i could go from stock 38 tooth to 34 tooth without doing anything to front diff. This seems odd. Has anyone tried this.

i think that reducing the tire size all the way around, will only increase your MPH only on the speedometer. you wont really be going as fast as the speedo sez.
i wouldnt mess around with the gearing on a 4x4 machine. unless you intend to run in only 2x4 mode.
there is someone on this forum that knows the formula for changing the gearing on a 4x4 but dont know who or what.
you could benefit alot from doing a search on these forums for 4x4 gearing and tire sizes.
