I let my DS warm up for about 15 mintues.. fan kicked in and all.. and noticed a small puddle of coolant dripping out of the overflow tank.

The head gasket was leaking coolant before. Right near the cam chain tensioner. A few mentioned they had this problem. One called Gary and supposedly he is getting a new gasket set. I wonder if that cured his problem.
I will look into the water pump seals as well.

For all you TVI fans.... this is what I got from Boomer84 (Gary from TVI)
"Stop your whinning!!Don't blame me,you didn't the right sealer!!!!!!!I didn't break your cams or bend your valves. You are the reason I don't sell kit anymore!!!I cannot help you with stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I was just asking what the problem was. I wasn't whinning nor was I blamining anyone. I never said he broke my cames or bent my valves.
Screw this... I'm simply going to hold off sell my kit and get one from MRHP. Thanks Gary for your customer support. I wasn't whinning, just asking. You have assured me I spent my hard earned money in the wrong place.

i always tell him i want to do something to make mine faster, he tells me to quit my whining and go ride- what a guy. With as many problems as you have had it might be hard to find the person to blame but as many know my 720 runs good, and has been apart once, and back together once. i had the water problem, it was the water pump seals not gary, he was kind of mean and gave me a case gasket while he watched me change the seals. fans or not the engines that he puts together seem to stay together. so if you see any difference there, than with your engine ,there maybe your problem. you sound upset, but you maybe taking your pain out on the wrong guy. i know i'm just one of the northwest guys.

Hey Dave is there anything with that machine you dont complain about
Seriously that guy who sold you the parts may just want to see who is the first customer to jam them up his **** (some peeps are weird like that you know) either that or needs to take some prozak and a couple courses in customer service/relations.
I have seen better known builders get trashed at other sites for being that way and they had at least earned some sort of right to be arrogant, so cant figure whats up with all that BS.
You know I wasnt overly impressed with how that engine pulls for its amount of cc's and your $$$ investment so it would be good if you could get it straightend out and running right cause this crap is going to get the better of you.
On a final note its just not right to have to deal with crap like this when your having problems, and just when you need the help from who you are buying your stuff from they go and crap all over you is totally wrong. We all spend real money on this stuff and nothing in our sport is what could be considered cheap and it isnt a lot to ask to get good product that fits and works right, and the after sale support we need. This is what seperates the pro's from the backyard yo-yo's and I for one dont like dealing with people who cant support their product after the sale, and wont be afraid to tell the world (isnt the internet great ) who has done a good job and who needs to switching to a career greeting customers at walmart.
And dave you riding sunday?

back yard yo-yo's, interesting term. since you guys haven't had the pleasure of enjoying that engine, let me tell you what it is able to do.
1- runner up king of the dunes - at oregon dunefest single cylinder class- 2003
2- lost to jeff and az ds days 2003- mario was right there
3- runner up 4 stroke class 2004 dunefest
4- runner up king of the dunes 2004 dunefest- single cylinder class
5- 3rd at 2004 ds days lost to jeff and that turbo of garys.
Never saw the need to bring up the trophys or races that was things i enjoyed and shared with my family.
oh and just for laughs- this is all on that crappy little low compression piston, that runs pump gas, that everybody has such a hard time with, oh and the under achieveing tm 45.
sounds like you just wanted a free head gasket
sorry i'm pretty sure i'm just having a bad week, but if you will put the right gasket sealer and a new set of water pump seals you will find you can go ride. go to napa for the seals you'll find them for 3 bucks each

Sandman,
You have always answered my questions prior to getting my 720 kit and I know you probably good friends with Gary. I have no beef with you whatsoever and when I mention fans, I didn't mean to insult anyone who knows him. I posted it to show in my opinion, his poor level of professionalism. I also believe I didn't slander him about this post. My Head was leaking coolant and I posted about it and noticed several others had the same problem (the thread is here somewhere). I merely posted if that guy who had this similar problem resolved it when he contacted Gary (perhaps just seeing is name got him rilled up). I dropped the hatchet long ago. The quote I posted was a complete slap in the face. Gary has never mentioned any sealant when he sold me the kit. I did call him when I first got it and asked him several things and he answered them accordingly and nothing was mentioned about sealing it. Everything I have ever posted about him is no fabrication, it's all factual.
I just asked a simple question and I got that brilliant response from Gary. It was in no way inteded to slander him, but it is obvious HE has some animosity towards me.
Since I put the Lectron 46 carb, a carbuerator that Mr. Gary advised I stay away from, My DS has felt much stronger.
This was not an issue of wanting a "free" gasket. I would have been more than happy to pay for it if it would fix the problem.
Yeah Jack, I'm riding Sunday. Got room for a mini atv? Matt might come along. I just redid his T-Rex and got his bottom end back. I didn't run it very long cause it was dark (6:00PM) and it's crazy loud. I I will have him ride around in it in the yard today to break in the motor. It feels much better now than it did. You need to remove your 440 EX signature and post you have a DS.
