alright i am wanting to buy a 1986 250 foutrax. it is a farm utility farm atv and it has seen better days the plastic isent very good and the seat is decinigreated. also its a 4 cycle and the motor constantly clicks while idleing. any idea what that is? the owner says its done it ever since he got it. my friend has a 1984 200 foutrax that does the same thing he bored it 60 over and new piston and rings and it still does it. any ideas what it is? also how much would this be worth?

 

it could just be the valves need adjusting which is easy, or it could be a major problem. It is hard to tell without looking at it or hearing it. I would say you could offer the guy $800-1000, we had the same fourwheeler in excellent shape and we sold ours for $1200. So it's your call, they are excellent machines and will never let you down.

 

alright but any idea how much hp and torque it has? same with mph?

 

To be honest the quad is going to be gutless. Its heavy in a way, and has a dinky motor. Don't count on going through deep mud even with big tires on it. You could still buy it but I'd only go $700 at max. If you live in PA I have a 1997 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4 with a plow for $2000 neg.

 

yeah im 14 years old and only have about 600 buks and dont have a job. i was planning on offereing him 750. he said he wanted to try to get 1000 and said that was a guess so im gonna take advantage of it. and that is the only fourwheeler that ive found for under 1000 i live in halran iowa.

 

my 250ex knocks.. and its only about a year old ,and so what i did was bought the highest octane fuel and then went and bought some octane booster and that helped it.

 

well this isent a knock its just a quiet constant click. but i asked someone else and they said theres did the same thing. they ajusted the cam chain and it went away. and i think thats what it is.
