Default Drag Race!!!!

Hey guys, went Drag Racing today, I did ok.....I raced 2 different yfz, one of them I beat and the other one....NO WAY!!! This thing was built (big time) this thing was wicked fast. I also raced a lt500, he won by a half of a quad. Very good race. I aslo raced 2 banshee's, won against both of them. I beat my buddy's 04 Pred, and my other buddy's Raptor,.....along with some built 400ex's.

I end up getting 4th place....but nothing to show for it though. Which I was very happy with 4th. I know the swing arm on the 03 is longer, but how much? Buddy's 03 would not come up at all. I would like to get a 03 swing arm and put it on my 05.

Wow just 5/8, I just don't understand how he can dump the clutch, and never bring the front end up, and besides all this he has a 13 tooth front sprocket. I was dumping the clutch in 2nd and still could not keep it down. It seem mine hooks up alot better(that is when I don't want it to) I guess I need to learn how to ride wheelies through the gears.

Rear tires and the weight of the riders have a factor in it.

You just need to practice........I have an 03.........stock tires.......and weight 155lbs....and I can still use first.....

I would stay away from using 2nd like that.......number one you are going to ruin your clutch, number two...you are not as fast IMO.....

i beg to differ......2nd gear starts are the way to go in 300ft.....aslong as you geared right. i run a 13/37 setup, and strap down my front end, hold the throttle to almost the limiter and watch the tree!!! around here all 3 yellows light at the same time and i think it's a 1/2 sec drop, so as soon as yellow hits i drop the clutch spin till green and hook up and go!!! while the guy next to me is shifting from first to second i'm shifting from second to third and i'm gone!!!! just my 2 cents! You are an amature drag racer though..........and will spend the money if your clutch goes out.......Raj on the other hand is just having fun, trying to beat some of his pals........and he's hopefully not dropping the clutch with the throttle clear on........

My Raptor is MUCH faster when launching in 2nd at the rev limiter. As long as I don't get too much traction, it spins a little and takes off. Too much traction and it will stand straight up in the air, even with a +8 swingarm and 1" forward a-arms. One size does not fit all for drag racing, too many variables between different machines and different builds.

Default Drag Race!!!!

I ordered a 40 tooth sprocket last week....I hope to get it soon. I straped the front down, and the back also. When the back was straped down I would come out hard and quick, it was great...then it kept coming undone, so I took it off...afraid of it getting in my chain.....and then I would spin. It's hard to strap the back down when they are nothing to strap it to.
