New 400ex plastic fit old 400ex?

Default New 400ex plastic fit old 400ex?

will the new 05 400ex plastic (450r look alike) fit the older model 400exs?

I looked at one at the store just for that reason. The best I could tell is that it would work. You do have to change all the front pieces though.

There is like 8-9 different pieces of plastic in the front. You would have to change all of it not just the main fender, the best I could tell.

It is possible, you must weld 2 brackets at the curved parts of your frame under your lights, then you must drill 2 holes in the next crossmember down on the front of the frame behind the tip of your plastic. The hard part is getting parts: Headlight & brackets,lower plastic piece, both fenders, and a crossing bracket that surports the fenders above the light, and of course the hood. It's not as bad as it seems if you have the parts. I have pics of both frames and where it needs to be modified. Most fender mounts are the same.
