I have a 88 Honda 250R that is in show room condition, totally bone stock. Everything is perfect on this thing right down to the ignition switch. I got it off a guy that stored it for 12 years after he got it for a graduation present. Everyone that I've talked to really couldn't tell me what it's worth. Most people don't notice its a 250R because it looks brand new. Do any of you guy's have an idea?

In washington if it is truly as nice as you say you should be able to sale it in one day for 6500-7000 that would be by putting just one add in the cycle trader

I do know one thing about it. I've had a 400EX and that thing doesn't even come close to it in stock trim. I've never been on a quad that handles better. Honda hit it right on the nose with the 88.

the prices in washington go like this 2500-3000 will get you a beater 86-87 in real rough shape. 3000-3500 will get you a 86-87 in fair shape. 3500-4000 will get a fairly nice 86-87 with maybe aftermarket front shocks and pipe, or a real thrashed 88-89. 4000-5000 will get you a 86-87 with after market suspension,300 kit ,good shape, but definetly not excellent, or a well used 88or 89 that dosn't look thrashed but shows the signs of its age. 5000-6000 will get you a highly modified 86 or 87 with lots of aftermarket parts on it in pretty good shape, and maybe a 88or 89 that looks good, but for that price it is real rare and the guys neighbor or best buddy buys it. 6000-7000 gets you a real nice 86-87 with after market frame and lots of extras, or and real low hour stock 88-89 like you have desribed that you have.I have bought and sold many R's so I know what they go for in washington. Anything above 7000 gets you a aftermarket framed suspended and 300 kit 88-89.

Haven't you heard of anything gaining value.Do you know anything about cars? How much did a classic car cost when they came out (say a 68 camaro convertible ssrs like my dad's)and how much is it worth now? More then what it cost in 68!

Yeah i know cars. But a 250r is NOT a car! Yes, it will gain value. But 6500 bucks for a 12 year old wheeler you'll more than likely have to rebuild every year or so? You redo a car it'll last bout 10 years if you do it right. I just can't see paying that much for a 250r. Thats just me. I'm happy with my 400 that i only paid 5200 out the door with the extended warranty. I've got a quad that will do just fine for me, i don't have to work on it all the time, and if something does go wrong, i've got the warranty til it's paid off. But thats just me.
