Default Stainless Vs Titanium Exhausts

Do any of you know the durability differences between the stainless steel systems and the titanium? I know that the titanium is lighter but I wanted to know how it stands up to use and the elements Vs the stainless. I have only had my YFZ for a few months and the head pipe is already getting surface rust. And I think the stainless will start to rainbow after a while from the heat, will the titanium do that? Thanks for the help!

Titanium along with being lighter is also stronger and has the ability to flex and return to its original shape. It also blues just like stainless on the headpipe, if you have the extra cash titanium is the way to go!

I used to have a stainless yosh on my raptor and it would glow at night because of it being so thin. will a titanium do the same thing?

I second that, also if you want, I like to ceramic coat my headpipes. Runs cooler and looks SWEET!!!

I dont think thats the problem being thin, I believe you have a jetting issue.

You can ceramic-coat your steel or Ti headpipe/midpipe, and you will be happy with the results: looks great, flows great, and reduces operating temp, to help reduce loss of power due to heat. I like Jet-Hot coatings because they are nearby me. I can drop off a pipe, and have it coated in 3-4 days for $40-50. You can also coat other exhaust parts like heat shields and exhaust clamps for $5-15 each.

the only thing that isnt so great about titanium other than the orice is that its more brittle than steel. titanium will break were steel would just bend.

What about the durability? Does anyone know if the titanium is more resistant to surface Deterioration than the stainless? or is it just lighter?
