Default How do you properly check your oil?

I was just curious as to the PROPER way to check your oil and ALSO don't psot neof those I do this and it works for me things.. i want to know the PROPER way to CHECK my oil!

do you mean to see if your oil is cleaned or the oil level?

i check mine with it running

i think they recommend you check right after you shut it off

jsut a headsup NEVER check it on a quad with the dipstick going into the case.. cuz there's only a narrow place for it to go and everything around that space is all moving parts...

Isnt that why you wipe the dipstick off and then insert it and read it?

sorry,,,i thought you were talking about a raptor

it has a dry sump/oil tank,,,you can check it while running

Dang Bing, I never even considered that. I guess you can check it while it's running....with the seperate oil tank of course.

Last time I changed it on the Raptor I got the leve to where it is suppose to be after a few pour ins and revings. Then I took it for a ride and checked it again and the d@mn thing was way too high?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] What gives?

Default How do you properly check your oil?

looks like you answered your own question ... run it, turn it off, remove + wipe the dipstick, insert, remove + read.
