Default Rubicon Winch Location??

I don't recall seeing this discussed, but I would like to know where you guys mount your winches on your Rubicons. I have a 2001 model, and for the life of me I cannot see a place to mount a winch. I made my own mounts for my Prarie and Bruin, and could do it for the Rubicon if I could figure out just where it should go. Any ideas? Pictures would be Ideal. Thanks

I believe the wench mounts lower on the rubicon so not to block the radiator air flow. My friend has just bought an 04 foreman rubicon and wants a wench. We were looking at it the other day and there is enough room to mount it but it apparantly goes lower in the frame than my Foreman.

Thanks, triple, but I just don't see any room for it - low mount or high mount. I do know people put them somewhere, though, but there must be a trick to it.

the winch mounts upside down. the mount is just a plate that is u bolted to the two bars or supports that come straight out(behind the front brush guard. and the winch bolts to the plate it hangs upside down.

Now thats pretty cool mounting. I knew it had to be lower in the frame but never would have thought about mounting it upside down! thanks for the picture. I will have to show it to my friend who bought the Rubicon a few weeks ago.

If you get a Rule, they have an awesome brush guard mount that is tough and looks like it came stock on it. Take a look at it: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/crazyk...bum?.dir=/b68b
