05 eton vipor 70 cdi rev limiter????
#1
Hi just wondering if anyone knows how to by-pass this annoying feature. I have an eton 40 and removed a single wire now it goes just fine with plenty of power. Does anyone know how to remove the rev cut out on a 70 Thanks for your help

The 40 is an 03 the wire was black there are only two going to the rev limiter one is black one is red the only problem is the remote shut off wont work but the quad will pull 250lb at about 25 mph and my son can now climb any hill the bike runs and idles much better without it. they were only installed after the CSPC realized the bike could go 30 mph well above the 15 mph limit they set , however , my son can ride a Cr 80 capable of going over 55MPH " Who are these people anyways" %^$)*^%##

Oh ya cutting any wire is never a good Idea remeber this is a seperate unit you just follow the wire to the connetion disconnect it and wrap it with electrical tape so it doesn't short. STill wondering if anyone knows how the new 05 rev limiter with the adjustable CDI can be bypassed before I tear it apart THANKS

Its a Christmas present so I haven't got a chance to tear into it, but from what I am hearing it wont make a difference if its on 0 or 7 the manufacture is not allowed to make a four wheeler go any faster per the CSPC

We have a 05 70 viper also and the only way I was able to bypass the rev limiter was with a new ignition and disconnect the battery. If you only install the ignition it will run but the timing will not advance because of the stator.when we installed the new pipe and some other goodies we had to remove the battery anyway so it worked out,if you don't want to lose the battery you could install a older model stator with out the light options and that should work.

Thanks but can you tell me if I need a new ignition and an older stator or just an older stator without the headlight option?? also did you have to bolt up a permanent kick starter?

The ignition that comes with the 70 has a dial on it and limits around 6800 rpm or so which really limits the potential of the motor so the older stator would not help, and yes we installed a new koso kick starter and my son kicks it over just fine.

I got an 50 and 70 for my kids. The CDI rev box is behind the grill. You can set the trim screw to rase the rpms. They both came set of 0, I set the on 3 for now until the kids get more ride time on them. Also you can set the throttle stop, it is at 50% out of the box.
