Default 1991 Fourtrax brush guards

Help! My dad has a '91 Fourtrax that he has "restored" to nearly showroom new. He's mentioned a number of times he has wanted CV brush guards so when I bought my '04 Rancher in Chattanooga (yes, 3.5 hrs away) I bought the Oxlite guards for him. I asked over the phone if it would definately fit the '91 & he assured me it would. Asked him again when I picked them up & same thing. Glanced at the box & didn't see anything specifying models so I assumed they would fit.

Now I'm getting ready to wrap them & found a little sticker that says they're for a '02-'04 Rancher (model 21130). Been everywhere I can find on the internet & can only find info about the Oxlite model 21120 for '96-'00 Honda 300's. Of course Oxlite's own website only shows guards available for models '99-'04. I've been to the websites w/ parts info & diagrams & tried to compare models but it seems futile.

So... can anyone tell me what are the chances of either of these fitting? Any knowledge of the difference in models (21130 vs. 21120)? Are the differences in clamp sizes or angles? They're obviously designed to resist bending, but could they be "tweaked" to fit right? I'd call the dealer, but since they're the cause of the problem I don't really trust their opinion. Also, since Oxlite only shows them for '99 & newer on their website, they're probably not going to be very helpful. I don't want to open the box in case I have to take them back although I think they have a "no return" policy on parts.

The good thing is if I have to keep them they'll fit my own (darn the bad luck!). So while I'll be disappointed if everyone says they won't fit I'll get over it pretty quickly!

Thanx in advance everyone for your input.

I doubt that they will fit perfectly but they will more than likely fit everywhere but the hole pattern for the ubolts. You may just need to drill new holes in the right places to let the ubolts match up to the A-arms. I had a friend who bought a pair off of ebay and they were wrong but he just drilled new holes and they worked great. Hope they will work.

Good Luck!
