Twin Cylinder carb retro???
#1
I knew a mechanic that was experimenting with swaping out carbs from a sp500 to a 600/700. As you know, the 500 has a larger carb on it. According to this guy, there is a world of hp waititng to be unleashed. I lost contact after moving. Any of you guys tried it?

I put one on mine the other day and it really came to life. I need to go to the dealer tomorrow and pick up some bigger jets because it is running to lean. I took it for a test run to see how the jetting was and still can't get over how much power it has can't wait to get it tuned in.

Besides the re-jetting. Was it a bolt on prosess?? or did you have to modify the carb off the 500
Also was there a big enough difference in power that would suggest doing it?

All you do to bolt it on is redrill the mounting bracket. The choke cable is different where it screws into the carb you need to buy the piece that screws in the carb for the 500HO. The throttle cable where it screws into the crab is to long and needs a spacer so it don't screw all the way in. Power is unreal I still haven't got it tuned in but it's really worth doing. Oh yea make sure it's a 500HO carb.
