any tricks to sprocket change
#3
Guys, all you need to do is first take off the front sprocket guard, loosen off on the studs on the back of the swingarm to loosen the chain. After chain is loose, just roll chain off sprockets. You will need a BIG socket or wrench to fit the front counter shaft nut. Just take of the nut on the front sprocket, slip the sprocket off and the new one on, put the nut back on the front counter shaft then roll your chain back onto the sprockets & replace the chain/sprocket guard on the front. I hope this makes sense.

with the 14t sprocket you will need to turn the motor mount bolt around or the chain will ride on it and chew it up. Mine was frozen up, still havent chaged it around, I ended up getting the socket stuck on there and left it. the chain road on the socket till I changed it back to the 15t. then I forced the socket off. Im gona need to get that bolt out eventually.

I might add , when taking off and tightening the nut that holds the sprocket on, it helps if you apply the brakes on the rear to keep from turning the motor / gears with the wrench. Does anybody do it different?

The sprockit nut is a 30mm. And be prepaired to have friend push the motor forwared at the head, because there is a nother motor mount bolt below the one that needs to be swaped around some times the motor will pivit. And I would also like to add that some ds's ar shiped with the motor mount bolt nut on the gear shifter side so you may not need to turn it around.

There is also a washer that is filded up against the countershaft nut that needs to be bent flat before you take off the nut. I's then rebend it against the nut when it's all reinstalled, this helps prevent the nut from backing off. Might help a bit....
