Default Posting links, and not getting in trouble.

Say there was another forums site getting started. Whats the deal with posting links to it, it can't be done in the forums I know. What about PM's?

I know that posting links to perf. mod places is ok, but what about other forums and stuff? Just curious.

The purpose of these forums is to provide an online ATV community where people can come and talk about ATVs. It's to help people get together and ride, talk about their machines, etc.

The purpose of these forums is not to provide a honeypot where people who want to launch their own ATV forum or commercial ATV web site can come, sign up, and start soliciting our membership. That is unacceptable. The proper way for someone to launch their own ATV forum or commercial ATV web site is to list it in the search engines and then let it grow of it's own accord. Or buy some advertising somewhere or get into a web ring or link exchange program. There are means to promote sites without leeching off of other people's hard work.

If someone is here merely to leech off of us, they are here for the wrong reason. If they are here to contribute, then they are here for the right reason.

The above includes PMs or public messages.
