Just got an email from Big Gun. Here it is:

Big Gun is proud to announce the arrival of the

2001 Yamaha Raptor exhaust system.

The silencer system will be available and in stock on
09-21-00. The tapered head pipe will be available in 2- weeks from this date. The silencer adds up to 3hp over stock and weighs in at half the stock silencer weight. Stock weighs in at 8.5 lbs and the Big Gun at 4lbs. The first batch of silencers are almost spoken for so call today for more information at (909)948-7029.

FYI- The tapered system all together should add up to 5hp over stock. Also an internal spark arrestor kit is available for all Big Gun systems. Call today.

They sent a couple of pictures of it too if anyone wants them, let me know.

I just installed a Pingry's exhaust tip on the DS650. It is a dirt cheap way to gain power. It is all aluminum, but hand made. It only cost me $69. They may make one for the Raptor, but I'm not sure. Their number is 661-822-7016. It is loud, but that goes with the territory. It has a deeper sound to it, kinda like a Harley.

Thanks for the info.. I believe I will wait till something is out that I can "feel". I'll bet it does look very cool, but will probably wake the dead from the noise.

Get the Yamaha aftermarket exhaust. I talked to the Yamaha guy's yesterday and they are offering a stainless steel and carbon fiber exhaust. They also have a header pipe. They qouted me a price of $400 for the compete system. Not sure if they are available yet, but was told it will be by fall.
