Are the Ron Woods Stage 1 kits really worth the $1,500 price tag?

Tough call, my kids 03 witha homemade end cap and some fine tuneing hasn't been beat by a stage 1 yet and theres a lot of stage 2's and even a couple of threes he's beat . A lot of it is set up, we've done a lot of testing and tuneing. Just my $.02

It's like the man said. It all depends on who tunes it.

I've seen endcaps on e-bay but I don't know what to expect from just changing an endcap.
I'm totally new at this ATV game so you will have to put up with me for awhile. I purchased a used 2004 DS650 and the end cap on the stock exhaust is broken. So as I was looking to replace the exhaust ( thinking I needed to replace the entire thing) I ended up jumping from link to link and ended up on Ron Woods site which is what brought up the original question.

A carb, exhaust and CDI are all good components to take a look at. There are lots of alternatives to each of those components depending on your application. The term "Stage I" has generally been adopted as all three of those components, but not nessesarily associated with Ron Wood Racing.

In defense of Ron Wood Racing, they do Pre-Jet carbs for free upon request. Fine tuning should be done by you, or someone you trust at your elevation. Every motor is slightly different, and small changes from the pre-jetting can result in an increase power. Most carbs that are pre-jetted, come a little rich.

I wouldn't recommend that the average user order a carb without it being pre-jetted for your altitude.

Email me when you get the Dyno and we can set up a time that I can run the DS out to you and dial her in.
Thanks!

Where is the best place to locate someone who can do this type of work in Southern California?
