Default Predator sprocket and air filter performance?

Is anyone running one tooth smaller up front on their Predator? How does it perform?

Is anyone running an air filter straight off the carb? Any problems with it falling off? How does it perform?

I went up 2 teeth in the back, and I have the Rath racing Intake.

Thanks.
So, you like the two tooth gear down best? Did you try anything else?

Does the Rath racing intake secure to the frame, or just to the carb? I am a bit worried about the filter separating from the carb.

I had a 38 rear....and I wanted more torque...thats why I went with the 40 rear. And the Intake strapes to the frame also.

My buudy has his filter directly on the carb and hasn't had any problems. It's been on for 6 months.

And I keep the bottom of the air box on for a splash guard.

Thanks for responses.

What if I just go one tooth smaller in the front (a 13)?

I ride mostly sand....should I get a K&N filter or something lighter like the UNI?
What filter does Rath recommend?

What if I just leave my airbox in place and use it for a gear bag?

I have read that you don't want to put a 13 tooth sprocket on the front if you have an 04 or 05 Predator. I have an 04 and I went with the 39 tooth rear, the stock rear was 37. If you trail ride it makes a big difference.

I have an 03 TLD, mostly sand with a little trail riding now and then. I think I will go ahead and try the 13. I also have a 38 rear but have never tried it.
Thanks for the responses!

I ran 13/38 on my '03, and loved it. Hill climbing mostly. Can't say its the best for my '05 though, but should suit you well. Get the honda 650L SX sprocket from sprocket specialists, you have to knock the ears off your clip, but it still works.
