Good question. It would have been nice if they would have applied that 250ex R&D cash towards the 400ex. Maybe another 10HP?

I think that it is the ideal atv for my girlfriend. Everything she wants: auto-clutch, good suspension, shaft drive, disk brakes, electric start and good looks.
Everything she doesen't: manual clutch, racks, kick start, and weight.

My hat's off too Honda on this one. An entry level sport quad.

hmmm...

it is easy to learn to ride a 300ex..

the 250ex is really, a horrible quad. (In my opinion) no offense honda if it took awhile to come up with it.

the back end sits real high. shaft drive?? OHH i think it has drum brakes too dude...

Perfect for youe wife? The 300 would probably be good for her. They're not that fast. (i've ridden fully modified 300's that fly faster than a stock 400. I am talking about a totally stock 300ex right here) They are geared low. She would probably like the clutch after she learned how to use it. And disk brakes would be alot better for her.

I really like Honda's but it looks like the Mojave has a definite advanage. Every quad has it's own place in the world.

!!! I'M GIVING UP ON HONDA!!!!!!!!!

there "new" sport quad,
is a friggn TRX250EX!!!!! they took the recon, and changed the plastic!!!
the old TRX250X is still faster, BY ALOT!!!
not only that, BUT, remember the old Honda Reflex trials bike? Jeb knows what im talkin about.
anyways, they took the Reflex`s name, and put it ona new 250cc UGLY scooter!!!!!
I was all happy like they brought the reflex back untill I saw the pic!
They are also making a 4-stroke personal watercraft, 4-stroke! ah man, itlooks like a SeaDoo but, its 4-stroke and says
honda!
they also have a new 4-stroke motocross coming out but they say they cant show any info on it yet.
my god honda, whats wrong???????
a 250EX? a 4-stroke PWC? ruining a good bikes name by puttin it on a scooter? ish!!!!
I mean, a Sport4x4 quad wouldve been nice,
a 650EX wouldve been nice.
hell a 2-stroke quad wouldve been awesome but I never planne don them doing that cause I know they never would.
Im just shaking my head.
I can see it in the headlines:
"RED RIDERS TURN ON HONDA"

You guy's miss the point Honda does not give @#$#$% what you think. They are in business to make money. If they thought the most important thing was the fastest quad and it would make them the most money they would of come out with a 500 hp 32 valve v8 version, it would be the 5,000ex and would have a top speed of 250 mph.

But the reality is they look for where the money is and it appears they see that money in a family type quad one for a low budget or the wife and kids.

Exactly Honda is going to make allot of money on this one, takes all the good about the Recon and makes it sporty looking perfect. honda is not going down the tubes and trust me they care, but 4 strokes are so much more reliable and less noisy, less emmissions. It is a great idea for a family quad, hey if i had a son i would be like YES! a good looking sporty machine with a shaft drive , efficient motor. under 4 grand. i mean come on I am a Polaris man and even i can see the merits of it.
