Default Foreman and Vinson

Ive been thiking about getting a Vinson but just saw a review in dirtwheels Feb on the Foreman500. It looks very good. Im leaning to the foreman just because ive had many problems in the past with suzuki and the quality of some of their machines. Hondas seem to last a lifetime.

I bought the new Foreman 500 ES about a week and a half ago but haven't got to go riding yet unfortunately. I plan to go this coming weekend. If I do, I'll let ya know how the Foreman performs. I can't wait!

I bought Honda due to their reliability. I have no info on Suzuki at all. The Vinson is a good looking atv however but I'm completely satisfied with my purchase so far. My buddy bought a new Honda Rancher 2x4 a month ago and it rides smooth and has plenty of power. Can't wait to show him the power of this Foreman 500 4x4! ha

Catfishtheman,

Post your thoughts once you have a few miles on your machine. I'm trying to choose between these two, also...

Muddy Mess,

The best opinion anyone can give you is go to the dealer and ride them both and see which one fits you best. As you can tell I'm a happy owner of a Suzuki Vinson. Without going into any details I can say that most new machines nowadays are made to last. The Vinson has been around for many years and has managed to win every 500cc class shootout it's been in. Is the new Foreman 500 better? I guess we'll have to wait and see but I'm either quad you choose will make you happy. Like I said as for reliability I don't think you have to worry much about any new quad unless it's a first year model. As for the Forman 500, I've read the reviews and it sounds very nice, I can't wait to see a shootout. Good luck on your choice.

my vinson has been good except the 2500$ worth of **** that broke. ALL DUE TO BEING A 2002, AKA A FIRST MODEL YEAR.

every other vinny i have come in contact with, has been flawless, boy did i wish i waited a year. the new ones are sure nicer built, and seem to ride "tighter" if you may.

my rubicon has been reliable, other then it doesnt like to start at all when its cold outside, my 400ex is a bit finicky to, but always fires, a 42 pilot will fix that.

the vinson is really a super reliable bike, prolly more so then my rubicon in engine wise, my vinson will ALWAYS start reguardless of tempature, from -30 to 100 degrees, one push choked or not is all it takes, and it stays running it doesnt stall.

thats funny you say your rubicon dont like the cold and is hard to start.
i have a 04 500 rubicon and it has no problem with the cold.
i left mine in the back pf my truck for 3 days in -18 weather and when i went to take it of the truck the rear brake was frozen on but that was it.
i pulled the choke out and hit the starter butten and after about 3 or 4 cranks it started and stayed running.
mine starts right up every time no matter how cold it is.
i think you should have your carb checked it might need to be ajusted.
also try a hotter plug.
my manual lists a hotter plug for the winter.
maybe try that first and see if it makes a differance.
because it should start right away.
and i know 3 other guys that have rubicons and theres start right away also.
so yours probly needs to be looked at.
i would think its just an ajustment or you need a hotter plug.
but i dont think its anything serious.

i need to adjust the valves i know, its never been done. the rubicon is my fathers bike, and really sees very little use, very little matience tho to..... i do all the things on it, and i have to go do the valves, what are the specs for them if you know? i know im properly adjusted valves will make anything hard to start. this is also a 2002 rubicon, im not sure if honda upped the pilot jet in the later years?
