raptor-edelbrock carb?

Worked awesome for me, excellent performance. I don't know how it can bog in a higher gear, I think he meant in a specific rpm range. Sounds like it isn't tuned right for him. They will work fine on a rappy, but people with the 727 kits in them are saying they don't have enough flow. As long as you follow the instructions closely and get it tuned right on the money it'll rip for you. I have mine running so that it's tuned for all top end and midrange and haven't had any problems. I wonder if maddog's accelerator pump is a little off...

They dont have as much top end as I would have thought. We installed one a couple weeks ago on a stock bore buildup and it has incredible low end, but fails to give the push that it needs up top. We did have quite a bit of trouble getting it to flow at WOT in 5th gear, which showed there simply because we werent revving that high through the first few gears. The reason I mention that it runs well until 3rd gear is because that is about the time when the great low end begins to give way to the mediocre top.
IMO a great trail carb, but not the choice for drag racing or lots of high speeds.
