Default Cold weather..my preddy sucks..yours?

Had to use a tow strap and a Yamaha to get the preddy going today...This thing is cold blooded..the Yamaha with a main jet that is to large and a pilot that is to small NEVER gives me problems starting in the cold weather.

so yeh.....what...........Do you actually think they all come jetted properly, for everyone's altitude and temperature?? nope.......so you might want to check it, but either way, they do start hard!!!!

I have a mildly massaged pred and I usually don;t have any starting problems in the cold unless I let my battery sit for to long, If you continue to have problems maybe try re-jetting ( we had to change a friend of mines pilot jet to get it to start in the cold)or even partially covering the tube that enters the airbox a little bit when you try to start, also check to make sure your choke is working properly I have read that sometimes they can stick a little

I had the same problem with hard starting until i found the problem. Where the choke cable goes into the carb there is a brass slug attached that when you pull on the choke it slides in and out of the carb to richen and lean the mixture. Mine was froze in the Lean (no choke) postion in the carb housing. My cable would still move as if it was working but without richening up the mixture. its 19* today and i had a problem getting it running. the battery seemed weak so i put my jumper pack on and it fired right up. i think the cold is killing the amps in the battery.
