Does anyone have any opinions on this pipe kit? Is it any good? I am really considering purchasing it in the next few days... does anyone have any bad or good experience with it? How loud is it really? thanks guys!

 

I have one and like it a lot. I know AZ Sand had one on one of his bikes. It is a loud pipe without the supertrapp on it. With the trap it is much quieter

 

I'll sell you my Alba pipe if you want it. MrHp and Randall looked at it this past weekend, and said to get rid of it because it is worse than stock. So I'm putting my stock back on with an endcap and we'll see what happens.

 

Tom are you running the air box lid on or off ?

Your going to want to leave it on when you put the stock pipe back on and when you get the billet endcap. Eric said that they dyno'd it and this was the best way.. 05BlackBombOfied

 

anyone ever heard one on a Z400? ive heard that they are REALLY loud. over 100db. Melinda Rae

 

Well on my warrior it made me hear ringing with disks on, and with them off, it was to loud for anything..hurts ur ears. Even if it did make good power but it doesnt look like it does i wouldnt get it they are way to loud, dont fit very good at all, and my bolt holes stripped.

 

In my opinion, and please take this as a grain of salt , but that pipe wasnt worth its weight in scrap metal. Sorry. It made lots of passes on the dyno, and just could not get that thing to flow right across the entire power band. It stopped making power at around 7000. And when I say it stopped making power, I mean it had nothing at all. Eric and Randall spent some time with it, and it just wouldnt work. Look at it this way, we installed the HP drag pipe, and it made a whopping 25 more horses at 8000 rpm, than the alba pipe. I know you cant compare the two pipes, it was just an example. The funny thing is, the Alba pipe on the Raptor is almost perfect. The head pipes are the proper diameter. On the DS though, the head pipes are 2 different lengths, and the diameters are way to big. Thats why it stops flowing at high rpms.

Like I said, please take it as a grain of salt, this was my experience.

I bought the whole Alba stage kit for my girl's Z400 and I really like it. It pulls really well through all of the ranges and fit perfectly. I have never seen one on a DS, but I really like the one on my girl's Z. Just my $02.
