How to fill plastic scrateches on Polaris?
#1
Hello. I own a Polaris quad with thick plastic on it which can be filled. I have a lot of scratches on it as was wondering if there was any way I could fill it. If anyone knows how I can do this, it'd really help.
Thanks,

there is good ways to help hide the scratches but filling them is prolly not gonna be a good idea, maybe better off just getting the new plasitcs. if you use STP son-of-a-gun and spray it on your plastics leave it for an hour or so and wipe it off it hides sctractes pretty well

Hello. 400crasher mentioned the PJ1 plastic renew. I haven't tried it either, but when I was racing dirt bikes I used to get all the dirt bike magazines and some tested this product with pictures and it seemed to work really well.
P.S. cool bike crasher, I had a KTM 300EXC I used to race in AMA District 14 enduroes.

Depending on how deep and nasty the scratches are, they can be tamed a little with a propane torch. I heated it until it melted and it smoothed it out a little. The hardest thing is to apply heat from a distance so it doesnt burn the plastic and discolor it. I have sanded and buffed them with compound also, but you need a buffer and compound, and the plastic never regains its original shine. I have white plastic and will be trying something soon for the summer to purdy my babe up!LOL
