Default TrailBlazer drain plug ???

Can't get the 3/8" bolt(that sticks out of the plug) to break loose from the drain plug. I got it to turn 1 or 2 turns and then it binds up and there's not enough room to get the drain plug out. Do all TB's have this bolt on the drain plug, and is it needed. Whats it purpose of coming out of the plug into the frame??. I might have to cut the bolt and replace the whole bolt/plug set up Rich

Rich,
I don't own a trailblazer, so I was looking at the owners manual....what year is your machine? are you talking about changing the tranny fluid? According to the manual on the tranny fluid, it says:

"Loosen the Jam Nut 'A', turn the adjuster bolt 'B' in to allow removal of the drain plug 'C'"....

what this sounds like and it has a picture on the manual, you loosen the Jam nut, then turn 'in' the long bolt which will allow removal of the drain plug....

here is the manual link:

manual

this may not work for you if you don't have a Polaris login, if not give me your email address and I will email the manual to you...tell me the year and size machine so I get the right one...

Dave, Thanks. I believe that is what it takes to get the plug out. I think I'll hit the bolt threads with some WD and see if I can get it to go into the plug futher. If not I'll cut the bolt and replace it after I get it apart. RICH
