Default how do you wire a battery eliminator?

Hey I removed my starter last night and ended up fabricating my own starter block off place.

I bought a battery eliminator used and got no instructions, so how do I hook it up? I wired it in between the negative and positive battery cables and it is 70watts DC, but my lights still go out at idle then perk up when the throttle is applied.

Did I wire this wrong? or do I need a higher rated capacitor.

all and any help is appreciated.

It should have a "+" and a "-" marked on it's terminals. Connect it up just like you're installing a battery. The lights dimming at idle is normal. If you want a bit more light at idle, you could contact Ricky Stator for an increased output stator, that might help things a bit.

thanks mod quad, I was more afraid I would blow out lights, I hooked it up that way but it acts the same as when theres no battery, lights dim and then eventually pretty much go out, a little throttle and they come back on.

I guess I got the impression they would be dimmed at idle but still on with the eliminator I guess I was wrong.

Nope, think of it as just like a 250r or Banshee at that point. They will dim the lights to the point of almost going out at idle then perk up when a little throttle is applied.

how much would that cost. i was considering adding some extra high power lighting. like maybe a set of 100watt KC daylights lol. that would light up the trail for sure!! but since i have a set of 55 watt bulbs in my mooses i was thinkin of trailtech hids or a set of 55 watt hella model 500 truck lights. how much extra power can they wind it up for. u cant do a whole lot with the stock 150 watt stator on the tb.
