I don't have the luxury of owning a bunch of different sets of tires. Half my time is spent on trails, then the other half on dunes. I was looking at the mudlites, and it looks like if you turned them backwards and lowered the air pressure that they would work good in the sand. If you look at them backwards they kind of look like v paddles. Let me know if you guys have ever tried this with your tires?

Howdy,
I run 27" Mudlites on my Yamaha Rhino and Brute force. Where I live and ride is all sand. The Mudlites work fine for me. They have about as much traction as 589s and are smoother. I will replace them with more Mudlites when these are wore out if they ever do wear out. Have a goodun!!

Yes, many people turn them around in the sand and snow. they seem to work good that way.

i seen a picture in the january 05 issue of dirt wheels.
on page 47 top left side of the page.
a guy ripped his handlebars off going through a mud hole and when i was looking at the picture i notest his front tires were backwords.
i tryed to email dirtwheels and ask about that picture but the address in the mag dont work for me.
anyways my mud lites on my honda work good in the sand also, and i have no problems with them on any terrane for that matter.
i just wish they were a bit tougher.
also itp has just brought out the 25" mud lite tires in the deep lug.
so now you dont need to go to 26" to get them in deep lugs.

I ran for about a year with MudLites on my Scrambler. Mostly in sand. I tried them normal and reversed. Reversed was only slightly better, but it was better. Finally got a pair of SandStars and there is absolutely no comparison. I thought I got around pretty good on the MudLites, but I was wrong. I get around better now in two wheel drive than I ever got in 4x4.
