One 'AWESUME' 4x4 Foreman S.
#1
I was casually cruising my local riding spot this afternoon and thought I'd ride by one of the Mudholes that are frequented by the more agressive 4x4 quads, mine included.I was shocked to see around 8-10 4x4 quads there.I looked to see what all the excitement was about? There was a 450s Foreman,he was vamped with 27s,had a lift, and was locked. The owner failed to conquer this mud pit, however, when another [much younger] friend of his took it,he road it thru completely.Just goes to show you that riders can and sometimes do make a HUGE differance. Now this Foreman was one of the baddest *** 4x4 Honda's I've ever personally seen.I've seen a ton of them.
Well,to tell you guys the truth,I failed at this mudhole last yr on my 500cc 4x4 Sportsman.I also have never seen any 4x4 quad make it thru this particular mudhole until today.Knowing that I failed this hole last yr on the Sportsman,I was'nt to thrilled at trying it with my Xplorer.I was harrasseed into it and proceeded to try it.Keep in mind,I have NOT tried this ever yet on the Xplorer.Well,to my amazement,it made it completely thru as well.I was very astounded and happy. Some other riders were not so fortunate as myself and the Foreman were, others needed to be assisted out.I have to say that I think the Foreman made it somewhat easier than the Xplorer thru that mudpit, however,it was tough for me to judge,I was navigating the Xplorer and was'nt really capable of comparing the two.I just know one thing,
''WE BOTH MADE IT''

coryatv,
Actually,it's not really suprizing that the Xplorer made it and the Sportsman did'nt.After owning both,I say the Xplorer is the better of the two in the Mud and Hills. The mud pit seemed at least as bad as it was last yr.
My Sportsman was equipped with 26 inch Mudrunners,so is the Xplorer. The Xplorer is 110lbs lighter, more nimble, and developes more wheel speed than the Sportsman.I've mudded and hill climbed with both quads. The throttle response is alot faster on the Xplorer to.The Sportsman does ride better though.
ATVman,I have seen the Bad to the Bone Forerman on Highlifter.I swear,it was at the mudpit today.LOL,====Bill

No wonder the Xplorer has better throttle response...it's 2-stroke, they give alot more torque and speed. I'd hate a 2-stroke...I saw a 2-stroke Xplorer and they sound so wimpy(not that they are)I'd take a 4-stroke over a 2-stroke any day.

WHIMPY?
Oh no way.One ride on the Xplorer and your in love with its powerband. The Sportsman 4 stroker is the finest trail riding quad around,it;s also a great work horse to,however,I desire to own one of the finest 4x4 hill climbers, workers, and mudders around. The Sportsman is a heavy quad, weighing in at 697lbs dry weight. In serious tight/technical situations, this can be troublesome.I also desired something with less weight [588lbs] and more acceleration,I get this with the Xplorer. The only advantage the Sportsman has is it;s ride.Personally, after owning both quads,I like the 2-stroker more.===Bill

Wow Bill! Sorry I missed it. I could have pulled some of those other quads outta there. :0)
Seriously, sounds like a good time. I was busy in the river fishin' for salmon and they seemed to not want to get out of the water this weekend... Should'ev gone with you instead. Oh well... But I think we're gonna have more riders soon! Call you later.
