Title says my question.

Is it ok to leave the Shee standing up for extended periods? (a month)
I kept it like this for quite some time a while back with no problems,
but I need to do this now again for space reasons.

Just want to be reasured it is not going to harm any seals or anything.
My banshee doesnt leak a drop from anywhere, on its tires or upright.

 

i keep my blaster and my dads warrior like that sometimes, and weve never had a problem wiht it. just as long as the gas is shut of and the tank isnt to full u shouldnt have a proble. when we go riding i put our warrior my blaster and sisters lt160 in the bed of my truck and all of them are standing up on end. the longest weve had them on end in the shed is for like 3 weeks, and i didnt notice anything different with it so id say its not goan affect anything

 

It shouldnt hurt any thing. (turn the gas off) I would put the shee in neutral so the chain isnt under tension for the period of time you are planning on storing it

 

You wont have any problems, the only reason you wouldnt be able to is if the quad was electric start and had a battery, the battery could leak, and eventually it will short if the cells are dry from top to bottom on one side (from sitting up). Even if it were a quad with electric start you could transport it standing up without problems, its exptended time that causes problems.

 

i read that it is fine, but you should allow a hr or so before riding it so the fluids can spread out again.........

 

This may be ok for the Banshee. Because it is a two stroke. Also considering removing the battery etc. as people are suggesting. But I would not recommend it at all for a 4 stroke because the oil would probably drain away from the crankshaft bearing on a four stroke in displace into the gear box area. You would definitely compromise the bearings on a four stroke. Just the slightest pitting on crankshaft bearings would be undetectable upon restarting the bike but the damage would be very bad and expensive calling for a complete rebuild. You would only notice the damage once it is too late.
