Bye Polaris

Hey all.... I'm sorry to inform you, but I'm leaving Polaris. I know some of you know about my situation with my chain... case saver... case..... tranny. Well, Polaris denied any coverage and my dealer wont help out at all. Parts are "at least" $1200. Labor was estimated at $500-$600. Well, that's crazy. My dealer even told me that it wasn't anything I did to break the machine, but they wont do anything for me... and the customer service rep was EXTREMELY rude. I was kinda surprised, because a lot of people have told me that Polaris was good, but I'm telling you first hand.... NOPE. Well, I'm gonna miss my preddy, but oh well, time to move on to my next junk.

sorry for your trouble.. but I must say one thing..; I don't ever remember hearing
anyone make the mistake of saying polaris industries customer service is good.. I've heard
dozens of bad experiences but seldom good..
I drive polaris because I like their machines the best, not because of their customer
service skills, but in spite of them....I find polaris industries (and several of their dealers)
extremely difficult to deal with from a customer service standpoint.. I also happen to
like their machines better than any other, so there lies the quagmire of my situation....
1-best atv's imho......2- worst customer service imho......
Again, I'm sorry to hear of your situation but I'm certainly not surprised with the
outcome.. I certainly can't blame you for leaving either... good luck with your
next machine.....

This type of experience will happen with every manufacturer and dealer. There are many reasons and you have to have the whole story to find the reasons.
I had a Honda foreman 450 with the pushbutton electric shift. If I ever stopped the machine, I had to pull out the hand crank to get it back to neutral to start it as it won't start in gear. Honda Customer Service was terrible, no help at all and the dealer I got it from was even worse. And the worst part, it was under warranty. They had it for 3 months trying to fix it. I got it back once and said it was fixed, but wasn't, took it back in and they had it for weeks more.
They finally fixed the problem, two months later, it did it again. Took it back in, they were going to charge me mega-bucks to fix because it was now out of warranty. Honda didn't help for crap. I sent them all the receipts, etc. for it. After about a month of messing with them on the phone, they said they would cover it. The dealer still tried to charge me after they had it for another 3 weeks, saying they forgot what the deal was. I got it back and sold it....

ya it's a shame cuz it seems like the only thing they care about is the initial sale and service work they can get you to pay for, if it comes down to either the brand or the dealer to help you they don't want to. I had this problem with the lock n' ride hand guards not being true lock n' ride so I called a bunch of numbers to see if there was anything they could do for me and they said no, and that I should tell the dealer I bought them from and they might let me bring them back. I said screw it and kept em.

Well.... now that I've had a few minutes to cool down, here goes. I'm a little ticked because I would like to switch brands, but I don't like anything else. I LOVE my predator, I just don't want to support Polaris if they wont support me. I'm pretty pathetic, but now I'm not buying the Pure Polaris pipe, because it's put out by Polaris. I realize it's a white bro's pipe, but I'm still not buying it. I'll either get the LTE Dual exhaust or the Yoshi Carbon Fiber one, if they offer it for the preddy. I do understand that my quad is out of warranty and all, I just got my hopes up when I've talked to 10 different people who's quads were out of warranty and the dealer at least helped out a little, especially when it's not anything I did to break it. Well, I guess I'll be paying the $1200 for parts and then another $600 for labor, but at least I'll have a quad to ride. I guess I'm just scared that I'll buy the $600 case and then have the same thing happen and have to buy another one. My dealer also said that he doesn't recommend welding cases??? I've talked to about 500 different people about my quad and all of them said, "just weld it". I've also seen a TON of welded cases in my life. Any input on why you wouldn't? Thanx for the info!!!

If done right, I couldn't see how that would hurt. The dealer is most likely trying to make a buck and if you push them into the weld they most likely do a bad job on it to say "I told you so, now buy you can buy a new one". I would try a different dealer all together, the dealer has a lot of pull on Polaris, it just depends on if the dealer is for you or against you.

I just would have it welded.....it will hold up if you get the right person to weld it. And the Pure Polaris slip on is a great pipe.....I have to other buddy's that have it also, and they love it to. I know Bradracer18 like his also. I know where you can get a good deal on one....it also has the Ceramic Header with it....if you are interested pm me and I will hook you up.
