Outlander Max XT..any complaints?
#1
A question for any OL Max XT owners. Do you have any complaints or problems you've ran into? I'm riding one in a few weeks to demo it and was just wondering about opinions from people thats had them for awhile. Do you notice the extra lenght on the trails?
Thanks

I have one and have completed some challenging rides with it. I live in the desert and ride in the mountians that have old mine trails with a lot of rocks and boulders.
The only problem I have had is the Bombardier aftermarket aluminum skid plate tearing off, it is only bolted at the back.
The longer wheel base seems to add better straight line stability at high speeds and when climbing or descending hills, or steep drops. The extra lenght does make it a little harder to negotiate sharp turns or tight trails, sometimes you have to do a three point turn, but this has only been a problem it the most extreme situations, like a boulder field in a creek bed that I had to wind our way through.
The extra wheel base allows you to take a ridrer or carry more cargo for a camping trip. I have ridden some trails with my wife and have had no problems (I weigh 340# and she weighs 200#). The power plant and gearing is well matched to the ATV. The vehicle has a great rided with the IRS and seems to ride better with my wife on the back the when I'm alone.
I have done some fairly extreme trails that had steep off cambers and large boulders to go over. Buying my Outlander Max XT was one of the best things I did this past year. Right up there with buying an EFI / Turbo kit for my DS 650.
