I have a chance to get either 1 right now but I cant have both.DOes any 1 know or have experience with any of these bikes?WHich 1 would you take an why?

 

250R by far. the Tecate is a good bike, but its almost impossible to find any parts for it , and theirs allmost NO aftermarket for it. The 250R has an Unlimited amout of potential. get the 250R , with out a doubt.

 

THank you,its buddies friends whohave the bikes,1 of them wants to trade my 2002 for his 87 R.Me an my buddy are looking to by land together up in NY state.Maybe tug hill area so we can ride somewhere.

get the tecate because that is a very rare quad.

 

i heard the tecates are better than Rs, stock vs. stock. but i think that because teacates are so rare they have no aftermarket. if the Tecate had the same amount of parts available as the 250R does then i would get the Tecate4

 

yes the 250r has more after market parts for it but to buy a tecate is once in a life time. i would much rather have the tecate. But i also know where to get parts for them.

 

yea, get the tecate, then when something breaks, i hope you have a salvage yard to turn to! you cant get factory parts either, only some from salvage yards and ebay.. 250R is a MUCH better machine IMO.

 

Take the R. Tecate (stock vs Stock) is slightly quicker, but will vibrate you to death if you can keep it running long enough.
