Hello Everyone,

I've been reading this board for some time now and finally decided to go get my sons a quad (and dirt bike). I just want to know if there is anything that I should know or look out for when breaking in the mini and basic riding? My sons won't know they have it until tomorrow (saturday) and that's when it will be broken in (following MOTOMAN'S procedure). This machine is a 2005 and I was wondering if I need to disconnect the oil injection or can I leave it alone (i'm hoping to leave it like it is). Any advice for the kids (6 and 7)? I also purchased a honda CRF50 dirtbike for them and if anyone knows anything about those, please advise on anything to look out for.

Leave it alone until the warranty is over. The manual shoud give you proper break in.

 

I was hoping to leave it the way it is until my kids are ready for some more speed (shouldn't take that long knowing my sons).

Run it like you stole it. Just kidding, but you won't have any break-in issues.It's hard to hurt a stock LT80.

 

Hay friend welcome, I agree with LT80, these quads are pretty much bullet proof. The CRF 50 is a good bike, my 5 year old rides the crap out of his. I put a Five0 race pipe on it and graphics, it looks cool and sounds great.

 

I'm glad to hear that this quad is virtually bulletproof. I take very could care of anything I have so hopefully these bikes can last until I have grandkids (25yrs from now).

 

I had the quad and bike out yesterday letting my boys break them in, and I must say, that CRF50 can go. I had to remove the 1st restrictor off the LT80 to let it keep up with the CRF in first gear. It's amazing, before yesterday my boys had never riden anything like these before, but after 3 hrs of training they both were trying to do wheelies on both vehicles (I was a nervous wreck). They wanted to drag race, jump hills, go in ditches and do wheelies. I really think my family is in for a good summer this year. I bought my wife a 2005 400ex (yellow) and myself a 2005 YFZ (damn that thing is fast).
