Default Pilot Jet?

Short or long on a 400EX? I just thought the #40 was longer than the stock #38 but I just found out there is two different lengths. Should I switch to a short or will it make a difference? It runs good but I do have some minor issues with idle up to 1/4 throttle.

Well, acceleration is great on low end with the screw out 2 turns but it idles kinda crappy (idleing high and low). I tried 2.5 turns and it idles a little better but not as responsive on low end. I try 3 turns out and it idles great and its responsive at light thottle but boggs when I floor it till the Rs pick up. It runs best at 2 turns.

I was going to try the stock #38 and take it from there till I found out about the two different length pilot jets. I guess I'll get a #40 short and see what it does...............
