I have a '96 Banshee rolling chassis with all components. I am wondering what a good engine to put in it would be. Of coarse with little modification. I have a '91 Yamaha FZR 600 complete but it needs a new flywheel cover machined, it got broke in a lay-down. 100hp... It's tempting. I am also considering the Kawasaki ninja 250 and 500 engines. The 250 puts out around 25 HP and the 500 has about 52 HP. Any ideas will be appreciated. Also, I have the FZR for sale for $1450.00. It has under 5000 mi. Needs Fairing and flywheel coverand mounts machined.

Do not put a YZ 490 engine in a quad.I know someone that has put one in a Blaster frame and it is nothing compared to modified banshees.go with the FZR engine or a snowmobile engine.

Do you really think that a modified 350 is faster then a 500? Do the math. 350 or 490 hmm...

I'm trying to stay away from air cooled 2-strokes. My motor preference is 400-600cc 4-stroke and 250cc-500cc 2-stroke. I am looking for a running engine with all electrical components. I would like to use the FZR engine but there is work that needs to be done that I can't do. (flywheel cover)
