valve adjustment intervals

hey guys on my 03 ds racer ive nevr done the valves yet , probably got 50 hrs on it ,whats the deal here , ive read some posts that the valves get closer as the wear goes on,so the bike runs crappeir as the valve gets tighter right??/ i have no manual so i am going by hearsay,,,does the ds have valvetrain problems ??mabe soemone could fill me in , ive already changed the oil 3 times since new ,,please let me know , oh my guess on the valve adjustment time would be every season , thanx rj

This is an excellent page. Everyone can at least check their valves by themself and adjusting them isn't much harder. Do it yourself, you'll learn about your quad, you'll KNOW it's right, and won't have to spend big bucks.

Check as often as possible. Maybe every oil change. It wont hurt anything, especially if you have the RW box and have a tendency to rev it up. 10 mins of your time is worth way more then a burnt valve.
