I've been reading about all the modifications that some of you have done,
from engine work to aftermarket axles to lord knows what bolt on parts which brings me to the question:

How much $$$ have you invested in your DS?

Inquiring minds what to know....

About 6500 after the great price of 5200 otd. Total around 11,700$. I am sure this is nothing compared to most of the fast DS's. Alot of the guys probably don't want to add all the stuff due to selective alzheimers for protection again wife assaults.

Man, this must be the worst topic ever in the history of this thread!!!!!

It's like talking about the kid that kicked the crap out of you when you were in 4th grade.

purchased my 03 new and spent $5,300. Since I've probably put about $2,500. Guess that's not too bad. I'm sure that I could probably buy a new truck with the money that some guys have spent on their sleds....

In South Africa (exchange rate of 6 ZAR to 1 USD), you can easily spend over 200 k (with all the middle men, freight, import duties etc) on a good, fast DS. That works out to an amount in excess of $33,000.00. Now my wife has also got a Ds, I could just about buy a small 3rd world country for the cost of modifying our bikes.

My deepest apologies for starting this thread.....
I'm rather new at the game but I am learning quickly....
I was just trying to get a feel for if you guys are as much a bunch of lunatics
as those who build and ride Harley's. Talk about a money pit...
