Buying a new DS650 X tomorrow. I can get the 04 out the door for $6201 or the 05 for $6700. Which one would you buy? Thanks for any input. Mike

 

If the money is no issue go with the 05. Better resale value. Plus the 05 baja x looks better[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I would buy the 04. Spend that 500.00 bucks on some mods. You will love the ds, so don't worry about the resail, you will keep it. I like the 04 graphics better my self. I the the 05's are god aweful looking, especially the viper..................ewww

 

Get the 04....they have the aluminum upper A-arms. The 05's are back to steel (look and see for yourself). Not like its a huge deal breaker, but thats the only difference. Also the 05's are being assembled with not enough grease in the rear axle bearings. Sure its a warranty thing but what if you dont have a problem with it till the 7th month...no warranty! Resale on the DS is always great. besides 1 year difference is nothing in resale.

 

6200$ seems kinda steep for a 04 leftover ! I paid 5200 for mine , in 04

 

The 05 X model is a little quicker thanks to a raised rev-meter...but i also think the 05 looks better...but i think the 500 bucks saved on the 04 would come in perfectly in a full exhaust system...

 

I got my 04' for $6000 in Feb. of 04'. Talk them down a little more and go with the 04', I love mine it runs great and hauls my big a$$ around really well.

 

Wrong. 05 has the same 7900RPM rev limiter as the 04.
I would offer them $6K even for the 04 and see if they bite. That will leave you with $700 in mod money to play with.

 

they also went back to the steel uppers mid-year '04. So this '04 he's looking at might have steel.
