I am going to buy a new atv this coming year and I was wondering How big the difference in power is on the 450 vs rubicon. What is the speed difference, does it have alot more torque? Also does it ride alot better. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ride is excellent but not as good as the SP. Comparing it to the 450 is like comparing apples to oranges. The power is excellent, smooth and flawless transmission. I would highly recommend the Rubicon.

I used to own a '98 450es and just bought a new Rubicon last week. I feel the Rubicon is quite a bit nicer than the 450es. The Ruby is plusher, faster, and steers just as good, if not better than the 450. The tranny is super smooth. I only have put 25 miles on the machine, but I would recommend it over the 450.

The Rubicon, has better front differential (sur trac), stronger engine (500 cc versus 429), better transmission, however it also costs much more. The 450 sales are down, I have seen them trying to sell 450 for $5500, the Rubicon they are wanting full MSRP!

Drive them both & decide if the Rubicon is worth the extra money to you.

Both are Honda & reliable!

I own both. The Rubicon does ride softer, and with the H/L ranges, automatic & manual, D1/D2 torque patterns, etc, the transmission is great. Top end is better due to gearing and/or the dual range tranny. BUT, it's a tad wider, and definitely longer. The Ruby uses slightly over 4 quarts of oil, the ES a little over 2, and the Ruby filter is more expensive. Bottom line, both are fine machines . . . it might boil down to how much you like "bells and whistles" If I had to pick just one, it would be the Rubicon.
