E-Z PULL CLUTCH LEVER & THUMB THROTTLE EXTENDER
#1
Just purchased a 01' 400ex for my daughter and was wondering if anyone has found a e-z pull clutch lever that can be used with the factory perch so the e-brake can still be used. Also I have been searching for an extended thumb throttle lever thats not one of those cheezy plastic bolt on ones, I've seen the nice extended aluminum ones for the yfz & 450r but none for the 400ex. The clutch & throttle are easy to use but my daughter is on the small side and all help would make riding trips longer. Thanks for any help.

If the clutch is hard to pull, put on a new clutch cable and keep it lubed. The clutch on the 400ex shouldn't be hard to pull.
I haven't seen an aluminum extended throttle lever for the 400ex. I put one of the plastic ones on my wifes 250ex and it really helps her.

You might want to look into using the CR250 clutch lever, I've heard they provide more leverage for easier pull. Down side is that you get less cable pull with it, but that's usually ok. A search on here would probably provide more info on it.

I have the EZ-pull levers on my 400exs but I got a style that would remove the emergency brake and safety switch setup. Many of the EZ-pull levers are re-drilled levers. You could probably put a stock lever in a drill press and do the same thing.
Definitely replace the cable too. I lucked out and bought about 12 factory clutch cables for $5 each on e-bay. I switch out my clutch cable about 2 times a year.
You could buy the left brake lever and safety switch setup for a 2001 Yamaha Kodiak. This would allow you to keep a safety switch while eliminating the emergency brake. I did this when I had a Raptor. I assume the switches both act in the same manner but it is possible they work in direct opposite (meaning one has power always passing through until the lever is pulled which then stops the power and the other might be dead until the lever is pulled and then power passes through).

Thanks for the info. Cascade only makes thumb levers for the yamahas, only found an extended lever for a 450r at dennis-kirk but way overpriced at $47 and not 100% positive that it would work anyways. The only moose products I found were the plastic bolt on extenders or the expensive aluminum throttle boxes.
As for the clutch levers I think I'm going to resort to the e-z pull cable box set-up. Like I said the clutch is not hard to pull, I just want to try and make it a little easier for my daughter. The bike probably has less than 10 rides on it so the cable should be fine but I plan on lubbing it up anyways.
Thanks again
