What 440 kit do you have? Did it come with the head gasket?

getting a new head gasket and heavy duty head studs should solve the problem. what compression ratio is the piston?

I dont agree that the 440 blows gaskets alot. The ones that I have seen are from bad machine work. replace the old gasket and try again.

if it were bad machine work, wouldn't you be able to just take a few .000's off .. or even just double up on the gaskets and lose a bit of compression ?
