Interesting information I just received. People have stated that CARB was the reason Yamaha has not released Raptors in CA yet. Supposedly it was just released a week ago.
I decided to call the horse to hear it from his mouth. I called CARB (Calif Air Resource Board, or something like that) 800-242-4450, spoke to supervisor "Duke" who told me that the certification was issued on 8-3-00 and the executive order went out to Yamaha a day or so after, ok to release! So why are they taking so long? AZ received beginning of Sept. As a second note Yamaha's specs to them (CARB) stated Raptor was at 32 kilowatts, They said 1 kw = 1.37 horse power, so raptor is about 44 hp per Yamaha.
They did not have name raptor, just YMF660R which I suppose is same.
Anybody else with info?

I dont know but we are getting boned, supposedly Calvin here on the Yamaha forum posted that his dealer has already been invoiced for them. When the dealers get invoiced they are sure to follow within the next week or so.

Get ready CA!

The HP number sounds about right. On my Yamaha certificate, it list it as 43.8 if I remember correctly.

I put a deposit on a Raptor with Del Amo Motorsports in Manhattan Beach in early July. They are telling me delivery MAYBE in November. I'm #3 on the waiting list. Kolbe Honda in Woodland Hills is saying the same thing. #1 on the waiting list at Del Amo is Honda Research!! I offered them full price in cash up front to move up the list, and they pretty much said to stick it. Guess Yamaha cares more about their competition than their cash paying customers.

I just picked mine up from Montclair Yamaha, they called me in the morning and I was there when the truck dropped them off. They got 4 white Raptors on their first shipment. I got the first one, it was radical! I already have sand tires front and rear on it and I am ready to go to Glamis!

Check it out, I have a bunch of pics of my Raptor!
