Aftermarket Gas Caps?
#1
Hey guys,
Anyone using a billet cap? I hate the stock cap, especially the way it sits way atop the threads and for whatever reason this quad really smells of gas vapors much more than any other quad I've ever been around.
If anyone has a billet cap with it's own valve, how do you guys like it and did you get rid of that weird wrap-around vent tube that comes stock on the tank?
Thanks in advance.

I like the billet cap much better, not just appearance, but you no longer have to worry about pinching off the OEM vent tube. Bought on of those short vent tube with chrome valves from ODP, I like it.
I left the OEM vent there and did nothing with it.

Most yammi caps are the same, but each company usually has different threads.

Are you guys double venting these caps i.e. putting a 1 way valve on top of these caps that already have a built in 1 way valve? Also, do they screw down farther than the stock one? I don't know why they put all the threads they did on the filler neck and then make a cap that barely screws down half way on the neck.
Thanks again guys.

I only know if one manufacturer that double vents, and thats a good thing! If you lose the tube vent, you'll always have a fallback. The tubevent also helps to keep sand and dirt out of the vent pressed into the cap. Smart..... very smart!
