Default Clutch Shaft?

I just got my clutch apart and am going to install a Barnett Racing Clutch... one problem is my local bomb shop is horrible and had people quit and my stuff got ordered late, so I'm waiting on it. but the real reason I have a question is on the clutch shaft and the bearing around it. I measured the Inside Diameter of the bearing and it held where it should be, but I can't find any specs on the clutch shaft. It doesn't look worn, but the bearing doesn't fit snugly around it. Is it supposed to, or is there supposed to be the slack on it? The guy at the bomb shop didn't know and took a guess saying it should be because there is no wear and the ID on the bearing is correct. (Apparently they don't do clutches too often, eh?) Please, any input, the bike has been down for over three weeks now and I'm getting sad.

I haven't put it on or tried it yet because my DS isn't running. I'm going to fix the clutch prob first, then do the exhaust. it was the 172.5 for my altitude, right?
