I'm thinking about ordering a dial a jet and had a ? or two. First of all you have to create a lean condition with the main jet like dropping it down a couple sizes right? Do you also have to create a lean condition in the mid range like raising the clip on the needle? Thanks for your help.

 

Yes they do say you may have to play with the needle position a bit.

When you move the clip does up increes the fuel or down increce the fuel.

 

Down increases the fuel.

I have a complete Dial-a-jet kit that I have yet to install. I also got a TPI power valve. I've been waiting for some warmer weather to do the installation since I don't have a heated shop. I have heard you have to drill and tap your carb with this is it true?

 

I don't think you have to drill in the carb only put a hole in the boot between the airbox and carb.
