Use a helicoil.

I would suggest if your not experienced, have a repitable machine shop do the repair for you.
You will not get too many chances to make a mistake

Helicoils are quite easy to install, especially if you have a drill press. All you do is drill out the stripped threads, retap with the tap included with the kit, screw in the Helicoil, and break a small tab off the bottom of the Helicoil itself. The only trick is you must use the exact drill size listed in the instructions. It's really not that nerve-racking.

You can also use a "Time Sert". Not sure of the spelling. It is like a helicoil but it is one solid stainless piece. It won't come unwound like a helicoil can. Try asking a shop around you if they have them. They are fairly specialized so it my be difficult trying to find one.

I have used Helicoils in the past with no troubles at all....
Every once in a while I see one pull out or unwind. It seems to only happen with the bolts or studs that don't get removed on a regular basis.

If you have no experience with tapping or drilling the head...I would pay someone to do it for you.
Good luck
