Default Rookie at this, please help....

i have been up all morning looking at the "oil change" topics and seeing what everyone had to say about this... i have never changed the oil on my 99' sportsman 500, but now i am...please let me know if i missed any steps:

1. warm engine, remove drain from bottom of oil tank,
put new seal on plug and reinstall
on back of oil tank, remove oil hose and screen to clean, reinstall
remove oil filter, clean surface, lube oil filter gasket, install new one, hand tighten 1/2 turn
remove drain plug on lower right side of crank case, drain that oil, reinstall plug
let engine run about 2 mins, recheck oil level

i think i have that part down, but the PRIMING IS MY WORRY:
there is a vent hose running to air hose from oil tank, clamp off the line 3 inch from oil tank, run engine for about a minute, remove clamp, you should here air release, if you do it worked......

ANY OTHER ADVISE OR ANYTHING I MISSED...THANKS ALL IN ADVANCE

dont forget to add the oil

also be sure to clean the surfaces good when you replace the drain plug on the oil tank

they tend to leak

otherwise,,,,sounds like you got it
