cant say enough about glacier plow

Just to let you guys know ......The 60 inch glacier pro plow, along with 700 efi, and 26 inch ITP 589 tires is an awesome combo. I live in New Hampshire, with a 300 foot "FLAT" driveway and have no problems. I have plowed 24 inches of powder with no problem. Also 10 inches of wet snow with no problem. It is worth the 400+ dollars. My 2000.00 dollar Ariens snowblower is now only used for my dogs fenced in area.

Looks like I'll be using mine today... school was cancelled, and theres about 6 or 7 inches of snow/hail/ice on the ground. Really nasty stuff, I'll see how it goes.
Edit: Oops, my bad, there's about a foot to a foot and a half. I was looking where someone had already shoveled.

i would have to agree with you all that the Glacier is top-notch! i did wonder how something so easy to install could also be strong. but i've gotta tell ya, i've hit some teeth-jarring ice banks (by accident of course LOL), and BOY can that Glacier take a beating.
i'm very pleased!
i've noticed quite a bit of wear on that cutting edge. i'm thinking about replacing it with maybe a 2" taller chunk of steel. anyone out there try it yet?

Well, it worked well today, even though the snow was extremely heavy. I only got stuck twice! Usually its a lot more, but it's always my fault. I try to move back the snowbanks by ramming them with the plow all the way up, and sometimes they give in way too easy and I go up them and straddle the top, and then sink in deep so it beaches itself on its belly. Nothing a quick pull from the jeep doesnt fix, though.

I am pretty happy overall with my glacier plow. I have 60" blade and I have put it to work this season. I have smoked a set of skid shoes and replaced with heavier duty ones. Other than tha everything seems to be holding up nice. I have used mine so much this season that I have snapped my winch cable twice already.
I have noticed the wear bar is already in need of replacement but that may be due to the fact that I plowed a bit without shoes. If it weren't for the dirt drives I clean I would leave shoes off because I like how clean the blade scrapes without them. I certainly don't regret getting the polaris blade because the easy off and on is really nice.

Yep, Glacier plows rule. I did break my winch cable once, but now that I know it is common with plowing, no big deal. I don't know if it's just luck but I found since I had my cable repaired, every once in a while I pull the cable right out, hook it to a tree and winch it back in while dragging the brakes to re-roll it back up nice and straight and tight and so far I haven't noticed it fraying any more.
Hey Tyler 711 I see someone told you not to buy the winch rope. Maybe I'll pass on it too and just get a spare steel cable for summer.

Yeah, I think that switching between a good rope and a bad in the winter and summer is the way to go. If synthetic rope was really that much better than steel braided, wouldnt all winches come with it by now? I see that Warn's new snowmobile winch has it, but I think that is just because it would be easier to deal with in general on a sled with the snow and water and handling it in general.
I have found that in the cold, it is hard to get the cable wrapped up real tight like I keep it in the summer, so I've been wearing it out pretty good.
