I am an old fart so anything to soften the ride is highly appreciated so has anyone actually experienced the difference in the 2005 Recon with the KYB shock absorbers vs. the Arvin shocks on the 2004 and previous Recons? In the showroom I gave both the 04 & 05 my jounce test by grabbing the racks and pushing down as hard as I could and found the 05 to be noticeably softer, and was able to get more travel on the 05 with the same down force. How does that work out on the trail I don't know. Read a test in one of the ATV magazines and they mentioned a softer suspension with new KYB shocks. Guess the shocks are interchangeable so older Recons could be upgraded but the cost of those little shocks is ugly.

 

my best friend has an 01 recon, mines an 04, and there is a huge difference on the trail, his is bouncin around while mine is nice and soft, you dont want shocks too soft though, it can work against you as your own weight will lower the travel more drastically.
